The day our son arrived

The last ultrasound I had the doctors said Henry was a very large baby. They guessed anywhere from 8-10 lbs. Because of his size they offered me a c-section. The thought of pushing a 10 pound baby out of me when I actually didn't have to, was not appealing to me so we scheduled the c-section. We were scheduled for a 7am section. we had to arrive at the hospital by 5am to get checked in to our room. This is the last picture of my belly, taken right before we left for the hospital. As you can see, I was HUGE! Henry stretched me out so bad I'm not sure my stomach will ever recover. This is the last picture of Casey and I before we became parents. I don't know if you can tell but we were both really nervous!

Here we are all checked in, waiting to be wheeled into the OR. Both of us trying to make light of the major surgery I was about to have. Doesn't Casey look great in scrubs!

We were then on our way to the OR. It all went so fast and was pretty scary. All these people running around me, and they all knew what was going on but I had NO idea. Casey got some pictures of them pulling Henry out of me, I was pretty happy he figured out how to use the camera. In his excitement he took some pretty gruesome picture, so I apologize but in some of these you can see my guts

When they pulled him out the doctor said, 'my god, he should be in kindergarten'. I was behind the screen so I couldn't see him, but was very relieved to hear his cry. Casey left my side to cut the cord and take more picture, some how the camera ended up on video, here is a very short clip of the doctors cleaning him up.
My little angle was brought over to me so we could meet for the first time. I was overwhelmed with feelings! I was so happy to finally see the little person we created. He was so perfect and so beautiful.
Because Henry was delivered by C-section he had to be put on oxygen until his lungs were working properly, so him and Casey went off to the nursery while I was getting put back together. After I was all stitched up and was able to move my legs a little they wheeled me into the nursery so I could spend some time with my little man

It was four hours before I saw my son again! He really needed that oxygen! All my family came to see the new addition but because he was in the nursery, they only got to see him through the window before having to head out. They finally brought him into our room and Casey and I were able to start bonding with him. We attempted to keep him in the room all night but by midnight we had sent him to the nursery so we could get some much needed sleep

There aren't a lot of pictures from day two, I was having horrible gas pains from the c-section, and issues with my catheter. I spent most of the day crying. When I was finally able to pee on my own I was able to snap this picture of Casey, on my way to the restroom, taking a snooze on the little couch we had in the room.

Grandma Char and Grandpa Walt came by that night to spend some time with their new grandson. Casey also got some quality time with his new son before we sent him to the nursery.

Every time it was meal time a nurse would ask me if I had passed gas yet. I had no idea why she was asking me this but after each time she would bring in a try of liquid food. Broth, jello and tea. I finally figured out I couldn't eat regular food until I had farted. I tried and tried, I had never wanted to fart so bad in my life. But it just wasn't happening. I ate the same liquid diet every meal for 4 days. MAN was I happy when i finally passed gas, the nurse was also very happy for me! Not only was I able to eat solids again, they were ready to release us into the big bad world.
We bought Henry a cute little outfit to wear coming home......he was cute alright but he HATED it!
When we got home it was time for us to spend quality time as a family. Casey got a lot of bonding time in. This is by far my favorite picture of the two of them.

And Finally my dad came over to see his grandson. This was also one of my favorite moments

So this was just the first 4 days. Henry is now 12 weeks old so we have alot to catch up on. I'll try to get caught up quickly. He's getting so big!

He is such an amazing baby. I didn't realize how big he was until I saw Char holding him. Can't wait to see my Grand Nephew.
