We took Henry on his first vacation Sept 26Th-29Th. We went to Bass Lake California, its near Yosemite. I left a day early to help Casey's sister get her family ready for the trip. I was so worried Henry was going to scream the whole flight, but he did not make one peep! He must be used to flying already, he did spend 9months in my belly 8 of which I was in the air 2-4 times a week.
After packing, what seemed like their whole house, we finally left San Jose around midnight. This is Greg and Casey fueling up for the trip. As you can see from the back of Greg's truck, WE PACKED A LOT!

We made excellent timing. Even though we drove in the middle of the night, the drive was great. We had to drive through Gilroy CA, which I guess grows a lot of garlic. My mouth was watering for miles! YUM! We made it to Madera and needed to stop for some Jack in the Box. We had no idea what was going to happen next. We got on the road again.....the wrong road!!! we drove an hour and a half in the wrong direction!! Man did that suck. We ended up finding our way and arrived at 5am.

Friday we spent the day at the pool and hanging out, resting from the long night we had. Henry went swimming for the first time. I brought my camera to the pool but was having so much fun with Henry I FORGOT TO TAKE PICTURE!! but just imagine my cute little guy splashing his little legs in the water. He had a BLAST. He was so tired from the day at the pool, that night was the first time he slept through the night. 7pm-6am. it was heaven! Saturday we rented a boat and spent the day motoring around the lake. Here is Greg, who acted as our driver for the day.

We found a great little spot to stop, have lunch, and spend some time swimming in the lake. I don't know how, but the geese knew we were eating lunch and decided to hang out and wait for some food. Casey made the mistake of giving them some bread and they ended up stay by the boat all day

Henry had some lunch too! Fed to him by his wonderful Aunt Natalie

We had such a great time! Henry slept most of the time but he woke up for these few pictures. Here he is smiling for his dad and another family pic, with an Eden addition, she loves being in pictures!
At the of our day I snapped this pictures on our way back to the dock. It was such a relaxing day, I didn't want it to end.

We finally made it back to the condo and relaxed for the evening. Eden Eli and Henry played on the floor together. I think they are going to grow up to be great friends. Eden is the oldest and does such a great job with the little ones, she is a proud cousin. *Henry is wearing a nightgown not a dress!

Casey and I were lucky enough to have Natalie and Greg watch Henry so we could go back to Madera and go on a wine tour. Its was our first time and so much fun! Neither one of us know much about wine but I enjoyed drinking it! Casey was the DD so he enjoyed tasting it then spitting it out. lol. It was a lot of FUN, I'd recommend it to anyone. bring some $$$ though, I guess its proper to buy a bottle after the tasting, we ended up with 4 bottles of wine...yum yum!

Driving back to San Jose during the day was a lot more fun then driving at night. The views were beautiful! I snapped this picture of some lake we passed. The last picture of our first vacation! It was so much fun. I was so worried about taking Henry because he is so little, but he was great! I hope he continues to be a good traveler, so we can be a jet set family!

The day our son arrived

The last ultrasound I had the doctors said Henry was a very large baby. They guessed anywhere from 8-10 lbs. Because of his size they offered me a c-section. The thought of pushing a 10 pound baby out of me when I actually didn't have to, was not appealing to me so we scheduled the c-section. We were scheduled for a 7am section. we had to arrive at the hospital by 5am to get checked in to our room. This is the last picture of my belly, taken right before we left for the hospital. As you can see, I was HUGE! Henry stretched me out so bad I'm not sure my stomach will ever recover. This is the last picture of Casey and I before we became parents. I don't know if you can tell but we were both really nervous!

Here we are all checked in, waiting to be wheeled into the OR. Both of us trying to make light of the major surgery I was about to have. Doesn't Casey look great in scrubs!

We were then on our way to the OR. It all went so fast and was pretty scary. All these people running around me, and they all knew what was going on but I had NO idea. Casey got some pictures of them pulling Henry out of me, I was pretty happy he figured out how to use the camera. In his excitement he took some pretty gruesome picture, so I apologize but in some of these you can see my guts

When they pulled him out the doctor said, 'my god, he should be in kindergarten'. I was behind the screen so I couldn't see him, but was very relieved to hear his cry. Casey left my side to cut the cord and take more picture, some how the camera ended up on video, here is a very short clip of the doctors cleaning him up.
My little angle was brought over to me so we could meet for the first time. I was overwhelmed with feelings! I was so happy to finally see the little person we created. He was so perfect and so beautiful.
Because Henry was delivered by C-section he had to be put on oxygen until his lungs were working properly, so him and Casey went off to the nursery while I was getting put back together. After I was all stitched up and was able to move my legs a little they wheeled me into the nursery so I could spend some time with my little man

It was four hours before I saw my son again! He really needed that oxygen! All my family came to see the new addition but because he was in the nursery, they only got to see him through the window before having to head out. They finally brought him into our room and Casey and I were able to start bonding with him. We attempted to keep him in the room all night but by midnight we had sent him to the nursery so we could get some much needed sleep

There aren't a lot of pictures from day two, I was having horrible gas pains from the c-section, and issues with my catheter. I spent most of the day crying. When I was finally able to pee on my own I was able to snap this picture of Casey, on my way to the restroom, taking a snooze on the little couch we had in the room.

Grandma Char and Grandpa Walt came by that night to spend some time with their new grandson. Casey also got some quality time with his new son before we sent him to the nursery.

Every time it was meal time a nurse would ask me if I had passed gas yet. I had no idea why she was asking me this but after each time she would bring in a try of liquid food. Broth, jello and tea. I finally figured out I couldn't eat regular food until I had farted. I tried and tried, I had never wanted to fart so bad in my life. But it just wasn't happening. I ate the same liquid diet every meal for 4 days. MAN was I happy when i finally passed gas, the nurse was also very happy for me! Not only was I able to eat solids again, they were ready to release us into the big bad world.
We bought Henry a cute little outfit to wear coming home......he was cute alright but he HATED it!
When we got home it was time for us to spend quality time as a family. Casey got a lot of bonding time in. This is by far my favorite picture of the two of them.

And Finally my dad came over to see his grandson. This was also one of my favorite moments

So this was just the first 4 days. Henry is now 12 weeks old so we have alot to catch up on. I'll try to get caught up quickly. He's getting so big!

Introductions

Hello all! I hope to use this space as a place to share my families adventures with the people I know and love. To get us started I'd like to intoduce my wonderful family

HENRY RHYDER JOHNSON
I had my son July 14Th, 2008. He is my love, my world, the reason I breathe. His smiles brighten my day, his laughter makes my heart melt, his big blue eyes are an ocean i never want to stop gazing into. Every day I spend with him I fall deeper in love. I look forward to the future with him, seeing him accomplish his milestones, and later in life see what kind of man he becomes.
CASEY JOE JOHNSON
I met this wonderful man two and a half years ago. I am blessed to have such a loving and understanding man as my boyfriend and father to my son. He is a die hard Huskers fan, and a lover of all sports. If he's not spending time with his family you can find him watching one of the many sports he enjoys. You may have noticed we have the same first name, and no it doesn't bother us. I wouldn't let a silly thing like that keep me from the person I love. It has, however, caused much confusion for our families.

KAYCEE ANNE MACKLEY
This is me. I have a wonderful life, filled with new and exciting things. After being out of work for 4 months, I go back on Oct. 10Th. I am excited to continue traveling the country with my job, but of course I feel sad and guilty for leaving my beautiful son home for three days each week. I have high hopes for myself to accomplish everything I want. Being a wonderful mother, girlfriend, friend, and career women.
So, there is more to come. I'll get all the pics of Henrys birth up, and our first vacation together. Im also going to use this place to keep eveyone updated as to where I am for the week with work.
